We were ahead of our time in 1992 when we kicked off our own recycling program and paid for our waste and scrap paper to be recycled. Almost two decades later recycling has become a way of life for those who work with paper products. Today we continue to recycle as well as donate any excess paper and envelopes we have to area schools and charities.

We have also worked to reduce the footprint we place on the environment. We have recently switched to thermally digitized plates that completely remove inks, toners and photo chemistry materials from the making of plates that are a key part of making an invitation. We are continually introducing new, more environmentally friendly inks for our printing presses, have implemented more eco friendly water based press wash up materials and have removed many pressroom supplements that would have an environmental impact. In fact, Michael's press room operators now can run their equipment daily and have an environmental impact of less than 1 percent of the EPA's allowable guidelines.

There's more to be done, and at Michael's being a good steward of our Earth is something we take seriously.
